Abstract
This session introduces Shiny, an R framework for interactive web apps, and discusses the challenges of scaling complex dashboards. We therefore present blockr, a visual framework that lets any user build interactive data apps by connecting modular blocks, supporting real-time previews, code export, and extensibility. The session features a live demonstration comparing Shiny and blockr using insurance data, followed by a Q&A discussion.

Bio
David Granjon joined cynkra in September 2023 and holds a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from Université Pierre et Marie Curie and Université de Lausanne. He has been working with Shiny for more than 10 years and is the founder of the open source RinteRface organisation, where he develops and maintains renowned Shiny extensions, writes books and delivers advanced Shiny workshops in R-related conferences. David worked in the pharma industry where he helped design, deploy and maintain dozens of production-ready Shiny apps.
