OBJECTIVES OF THE SPECIALIST GROUP
Leading forum of risk and actuarial experts
ASTIN is an established, world-leading forum of risk and actuarial professionals in the non-life insurance industry. ASTIN was founded in 1957 as the first section of the International Actuarial Association (IAA) and stands for "ACTUARIAL STUDIES IN NON-LIFE INSURANCE".
AFIR-ERM was founded in 1988 as a section of the International Actuarial Association (IAA). It stands for "ACTUARIAL APPROACH FOR FINANCIAL RISKS". Its aim is to promote the actuarial profession in the areas of financial risks, investments and ERM (promoting continuous professional development, bridging the gap between academia and industry and encouraging innovation and high quality research).
