Appeals body to ensure legally compliant procedures and fair assessments

Disciplinary proceedings and appeals against decisions made by the SAA Examination Board can be referred to the Appeals Commission. As a rule, it does not carry out its own investigations into the facts of the case as part of the appeal proceedings. It merely examines whether the Professional Ethics Committee has sufficiently clarified the relevant facts with regard to the individual case and whether the facts have been correctly assessed with regard to a possible breach of the Code of Professional Conduct, professional standards of conduct and guidelines for SAA actuaries.
